CUET Answer Key 2025

Note: Taking reference from CUET(UG) notification of 2025

The National Testing Agency (NTA) releases the answer key for the examination after all exam sessions are completed. The answer key is released in two stages: Provisional Answer Key and Final Answer Key.

Types of Answer Keys

1. Provisional Answer Key

The provisional answer key is released first and is subject to challenges from candidates.

Key Features:

• Released within 7-10 days after exam completion
• Contains question papers and responses
• Open for challenges
• Available for all subjects and sessions
• Downloadable from official portal

2. Final Answer Key

The final answer key is released after considering all valid challenges.

Key Features:

• Released after challenge period ends
• Incorporates corrections if challenges are valid
• Used for final result calculation
• Not open for further challenges
• Official and conclusive

How to Download Answer Key

Steps to Download:

1. Visit the official CUET website
2. Click on “Answer Key” or “Provisional Answer Key” link
3. Login using Application Number and Password/Date of Birth
4. Your question paper will be displayed
5. Answer key will be shown alongside questions
6. Download your response sheet
7. Save and review carefully

Answer Key Challenge Process

Candidates can challenge the provisional answer key if they believe any answer is incorrect.

Challenge Process Steps:

1. Login to Answer Key Portal

   • Use your application credentials
   • Access the provisional answer key section

2. Review Questions

   • Check your attempted questions
   • Compare with provisional answers
   • Identify discrepancies

3. Submit Challenge

   • Select the question to challenge
   • Upload supporting documents/proof
   • Pay challenge fee per question

4. Payment

   • Challenge fee: ₹200 per question
   • Non-refundable processing fee
   • Payment via Credit/Debit Card/Net Banking/UPI

5. Expert Review

   • NTA experts review all challenges
   • Valid challenges are accepted
   • Answer key is corrected if needed

Challenge Fee Details

Important Notes:

• Fee is refunded ONLY if challenge is found valid
• If answer key is changed based on your challenge, you get refund
• Processing charges are deducted before refund
• Refund processed to original payment mode

Challenge Period

Duration: Typically 2-3 days

The challenge window is brief, so candidates must:

• Download answer key immediately upon release
• Review thoroughly and quickly
• Submit challenges within the deadline
• Keep proof/evidence ready

NOTE: No challenges are accepted after the deadline under any circumstances.

Documents Required for Challenge

To support your challenge, you may need to provide:

Acceptable Proof:

• NCERT textbook pages (scanned)
• Reference book pages from standard publications
• Research papers or academic journals
• Official government documents
• Authenticated academic sources
• University/Board syllabi

Not Acceptable:

• Wikipedia or unverified online sources
• Personal opinions without proof
• Coaching material without original source
• Blogs or forums
• Social media posts

What Happens After Challenges

1. Expert Committee Review

   • Subject matter experts analyze all challenges
   • Cross-verify with standard references
   • Discuss controversial questions

2. Decision Making

   • Valid challenges are accepted
   • Invalid challenges are rejected
   • Ambiguous questions may be dropped (marks awarded to all)

3. Final Answer Key Release

   • Corrected answer key is published
   • Changes are highlighted
   • Used for final result calculation

4. Refund Processing

   • Successful challengers receive refund
   • Processed within 7-15 working days
   • Credited to original payment source

Score Calculation

Your final score is calculated based on:

Marking Scheme:

• Correct Answer: +5 marks
• Incorrect Answer: -1 mark (negative marking)
• Unattempted: 0 marks

Based on Final Answer Key:

• Only final answer key is used
• No manual checking or re-evaluation
• Computer-based calculation
• No individual rechecking requests accepted

Common Scenarios

Scenario 1: Answer Changed

If your challenged answer is accepted and changed:

• Your marks are recalculated
• Other candidates’ marks also recalculated
• Refund of challenge fee initiated

Scenario 2: Question Dropped

If a question is found to be ambiguous or has multiple correct answers:

• Marks awarded to ALL candidates
• No negative marking for that question
• Challenge fee refunded

Scenario 3: Challenge Rejected

If your challenge is not accepted:

• Original answer stands
• No refund of challenge fee
• No impact on your score
